Projects for new year

I had written earlier that I was "Shopping yarn in London". I bought some Rowan Kid Silk Haze yarn, and found a great pullover instruction from Rowan's book Vintage Knits - 30 Knitting Designs from Rowan for Women and Men. Until now, I have finished the back:

During Christmas I have also started this scarf, made of Rowan Kid Classic yarn:

Christmas

Oh dear, time has ticked fast! Though I have not reported any of my projects here, I have finished many! I am quite proud of myself as this Autumn/Winter has been extremely busy also at work - it has been a bit hard to find some time for life outside the office. I have managed, though, but do not know actually how. It is a bit tricky to have several obsessions and not just one: besides knitting and sewing, I should also try to find time for my running (I am trying to run again some marathons in Spring/Summer). Please tell me if you have some good advice how to keep your life rolling but still to find some time for yourselves...! Maybe I am just too demanding and doing too many things?

Here are some pictures about my small Christmas projects done with the help of some leftovers:

The last pictures presents small circles to put under hot and cool drinks. My favourites are the ones with mustaches, I am planning to do other kinds of mustaches as well, not just Hercule Poirot's.

I also found this popcorn ring to put on the door very cute (just to warn you, though: I made one for my mother and she reported that birds loved it a bit too much... Had to make another one for her!):

One of my friend told me she just knits presents to others if she is asked to - this way she knows she is not wasting her time and effort and her presents are appreciated. I think this was a good philosophy: saves your time and also environment. So, this year I only did small things for myself plus I knitted one scarf to my boyfriend's mother as she asked me to do it. Unfortunately I did not have time to take a photo of it.
